Getting an emergency repair covered by your insurer
After a burglary, a broken window or a leak, your home insurance may cover all or part of the repair. It depends on your policy. Our job is to give you the documents your insurer will need.
- Price quoted = price paid
- Itemised invoice for your insurer
- Emergency: on site within 2 hours, anywhere in Luxembourg

Common cases
Burglary or attempted break-in
Forced lock, snapped cylinder, smashed window. Call the Grand Ducal Police (113) first, then have your home secured. Insurers usually ask for a police report.
See securing your home after a burglary.
Broken glass
Window, glass door, shop front. Many policies include glass breakage cover, with or without an excess. See broken window.
Water damage
Leak under a sink, burst hose, overflowing toilet. Turn off the water, photograph the damage, then have it repaired. See water leak.
Lost or stolen keys
Some policies cover changing the locks after keys are stolen, others don't. Check before having the cylinder replaced.
Documents we provide
- An itemised invoice: date, address, work done, parts fitted, price incl. VAT.
- On request, before-and-after photos (our customers already receive photos and videos on WhatsApp).
- A written description of the damage found, useful for the loss adjuster.
Claim deadlines
Your policy sets the deadline for reporting a claim, and it's often short, especially for theft. Read your terms or call your insurer as soon as your home is secure.
Keep every piece of evidence: photos, police report, invoice, replaced parts if asked.
Our advice
We can't tell you what your policy covers: only your insurer can. Check your policy and, if in doubt, call them before non-urgent work. Making your home safe, however, can't wait.
Frequently asked questions
Will my insurance pay for the locksmith?
It depends on your policy and the cause (burglary, lost keys, door slammed shut). Check your cover; we give you an itemised invoice for your claim.
Do I have to wait for the adjuster before repairs?
Making safe (securing a door, boarding a broken window, stopping a leak) can be done straight away. Take photos first and keep parts if asked.
Are you approved by insurers?
We don't claim any insurer approval. You're free to choose your repairer; your insurer will explain how they reimburse.
Can you send the invoice straight to my insurer?
We give you the invoice and photos to forward. If your insurer needs a specific document, let us know.
